How to measure and install a sliding gate system

Measuring For A Sliding Gate
Measure your opening width or gap width.
Ensure you have enough run back (for when the gate is open). Typically you require at least 500mm more than the opening size for a tracked gate. For a cantilever, it is typically 40% more than the opening size.
Installing A Sliding Gate
With the correct preparation a sliding gate install can be relatively easy.
Levels are important - take the levels across the driveway (does it rise or fall left/right?). Also, the levels into the run back area (where the sliding gate opens).
